Build to Rent Alternatives: Social and Affordable Housing
Exploring new ways and models of community living

The emergence of Covid-19 has highlighted the critical importance of providing quality housing across our communities and has reinforced the role of housing as a central social infrastructure. Our panellists, united by a passion for innovative housing that supports communities, bring diverse perspectives from Australia and across the globe. Affordable housing models explored include Build to Rent, Mixed Tenure Communities, Co-Living Apartment Styles, and Partial investment ownership. The positive impacts on communities were discussed through exemplar projects such as Nightingale Housing Communities in Melbourne, Urvita Victoria mixed-use development in San Pedro, Mexico and the Fairlie Street Urban Renewal in Tasmania.

Thank you to our wonderful speakers Ana Pineda (Greenfield), James Henry (Housing Choices Australia) and Thom Gilbert (Hayball).
