Through our involvement in a series of urban design and architectural projects at Victoria Harbour, Docklands, Hayball is making a significant contribution to the urban activation of the precinct.
The latest of these is a new community facility, Community Hub at the Dock, which officially opened with a family day on the weekend.
On the ground floor, the Community Hub provides a new home for local boating clubs. Upstairs is the family services centre with facilities for maternal child health, a kindergarten, functions, community meetings and performances, and recreation.
Hayball Project Director David Tweedie took part in the family open day and was impressed with how vibrant and connected the area feels with the new activity.
“Allied with the Library at the Dock, the Community Hub completes a diverse provision of community and recreation services to meet the needs of a truly liveable city,” said David.
The Hub was officially opened by the Minister for Planning, Richard Wynne, who said the new infrastructure means Docklands is taking shape as a place for families.
“It’s great to see more community facilities complementing existing residential and commercial development,” Mr Wynne said.
