Frame Apartments is a boutique residential development on the city’s fringe. Located in Richmond, residents are a stone’s throw from Melbourne’s best café and bars, public transport and sporting stadia.
A contemporary design; concrete, steel, timber, and glazing reference the neighbourhood’s industrial past. An inward fold on the main frontage provides texture and articulation to the façade, with further texture created by windows protruding beyond the concrete façade. With views towards the city from the winter gardens within, which are designed to extend the internal living spaces, particularly during the colder, wetter months. Echoing the architectural qualities, the interior schemes are bold and dramatic; their focus is on crafted detail, and the contrast between the raw and the refined.
The building form is set around a central courtyard garden that extends to the upper levels via glazing, creating an atrium-like space transporting light into the heart of the development. A generous communal roof deck with outdoor dining, BBQ, casual seating and expansive city views complements private apartment living.
