This major collaborative project continues to impress award jurors with its community-centred design for a precinct-scale development, recently receiving a High Commendation in the Architectural Design category from the prestigious Victorian Premier’s Design Awards.
The Victorian Premier’s Design Awards program was established by the Victorian Government to showcase the value of design in creating functional, safe and efficient spaces. Entries are based on four criteria: Design Process, Design Excellence, Design Innovation and Design Impact.

The awards were announced on March 13 by the Minister for Creative Industries, Colin Brooks, who commented, “The Victorian Premier’s Design Awards celebrate the incredible achievements of Victorian designers, whose innovations impact our everyday lives, from what we wear and how we communicate, to the buildings we inhabit. Congratulations to all finalists and winners who showcase the very best of our design industry, which supports thousands of jobs across the state and continues to produce world-leading innovations.” – Minister for Creative Industries, Colin Brooks
Receiving the award on behalf of the NGV team were the proud members of the team: Yuyuen Leow and James Luxton from Hayball, along with Victoria Reeves and Patrick Kennedy from Kennedy Nolan Architects.
