Riverstone High School Riverstone, NSW

Stage 1 of a campus wide masterplan at Riverstone High School was a key step in helping the school develop and adjust to an ever evolving and shifting demographic in its catchment area. The rapid growth of the housing market in Sydney has meant formerly quiet rural areas like Riverstone are experiencing extra pressure on their educational institutions. These works have been designed to help address the resulting issues along with the school’s concern with the lack of street presence and potential for a perceived disconnection with the community.

The project includes a variety of diverse and purposeful learning settings including 12 new flexible teaching spaces that have enabled Riverstone High School to transition from a traditional learning environment to an innovative future-focused model of evolving pedagogy.

Major upgrades to the administration façade and interiors in addition to extensive site works have opened the school to the community and establishes a greater relationship with the streetscape of McCulloch Street.
