Hayball’s design of the Centre for Learning and Innovation at Carey Baptist Grammar School has been shortlisted in the 2017 Australian Interior Design Awards. The entry is one of 14 shortlisted in the Public Design category.
As an example of interior design excellence, the project responds strongly to the challenges of contemporary education, based on deep understanding of the project brief, pedagogical thinking and its spatial manifestation. Contemporary and mature, the design is grounded in respect for adolescents as responsible world citizens.
The Australian Interior Design Awards recognise and celebrate interior design excellence via a credible, industry-based program, which is backed by the Design Institute of Australia, the professional body representing Australian designers.
This year, a record-breaking 525 entries were received, including projects from all Australian states and territories and international projects by Australian designers. From these entries, 177 have been shortlisted across seven primary categories. Winners will be announced at a dinner on Friday 9 June and published in Artichoke magazine.
