The addition of a Director and two Principals is strengthening our senior leadership!
We’re delighted to announce the appointments of Bianca Hung to Director and Thomas Gilbert to the role of Principal. Formerly senior associates, both have been promoted in acknowledgement of their respective talents, vision and capabilities, and for their development into highly respected leaders.
Hayball also welcomes Graham Legerton as Principal, Education. Based in our Brisbane studio, Graham is a specialist in education design who understands the importance of visionary ideas and strategic thinking to meet a client’s needs.
Celebrating the appointments with all staff across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, managing director Tom Jordan said the ability to recognise and nurture future leaders is a key factor in Hayball’s continued success.

“Building his expertise in prefabrication and construction innovation within the design of large scale residential, student accommodation and commercial projects, Thomas provides design leadership on complex projects such as La Trobe Street Student Accommodation, a pioneering project where the prefabrication construction technology is dramatically reducing both construction time and on site impact during installation.
“Founded on listening deeply, a love of design, collaboration, and holistically sustainable ideas, Graham’s approach is entirely aligned with Hayball’s and reflects our commitment to innovative design solutions, technical expertise, strong client relations and industry leadership. We’re excited that by joining our team he is fortifying an already exceptional education team.”
As Hayball continues to broaden and diversify the ownership of the practice, the appointments of Thomas and Graham to an expanded senior leadership team mark the reintroduction of the Principal leadership role into the practice. In continuing to strengthen in education design expertise, the suite of appointments also reflects our national growth and diversification across the interior design and student accommodation sectors.
