The sun was shining and it was the builders’ day off – perfect conditions for drone pilots from our visualisation team to capture some great footage of the South Melbourne Primary School construction site.
Concrete has been poured up to level 2 and steel work erected to level 4, with level 5 and roof steelwork yet to commence. Being a composite steel/concrete structure, the erection sequence is governed by the concrete pours on the levels below. Roughing in of services at lower levels is underway and the unitised façade is on a slow boat from China heading this way. The façade panels will be the next big push.
Victoria’s first public vertical school is on track for enrolments in January 2018.
