The rich tapestry of materials combined in Aura’s composition evokes a sense of luxury, while simple design and construction techniques were used to create a striking façade that can be seen along Melbourne’s Yarra River.

This 28-level mixed-use building on Flinders Street provides 262 private and serviced apartments. Three levels of car park and a gymnasium are located on the podium levels and residents are serviced by cafe, restaurant, bar and retail tenancies on the ground floor. The façade along Katherine Place is composed of fine-grain metal cladding and articulated precast concrete balustrades.

Throughout the interior design, we sought to create a sense of luxury while ‘bringing the outside in’. The lobby features glossy, reflective materials in a palette of gold and bronze, which correspond directly to the gold-coloured, metal-clad canopy and bronze accents on the exterior of the building. A turquoise leather-cushioned wall with ottomans and a bench seat in the same colour again references the external facade which is clad in diamond-shaped perforated aluminium.

There are one and two-bedroom apartments, as well as a penthouse, and each adopts a neutral colour palette, with accents of the building’s signature gold and bronze.
