Brisbane Boy’s College Masterplan Turrbal Country, Yuggera Country | Toowong, QLD

The Master Plan Campus Vision for Brisbane Boys’ College is being developed by Hayball through a comprehensive co-creation process with the school. Designed to align with the school’s Strategic Plan and Business Plan, this initiative aims to shape the future vision and direction of the 120-year-old college.

The vision for the master plan focuses on preserving and reinstating the college’s unique history while integrating contemporary teaching and learning facilities. This process has been guided by consultations with students, staff, the executive team, old collegians, parents, Indigenous stakeholders, and expert consultants.

At the core of the vision is a ‘cascade’ of facilities that extends from the heritage-listed Goldicott House to the creek, facilitating centralized movement among buildings. The Master Plan Campus Vision outlines short-, medium-, and long-term projects designed to enhance campus accessibility and allow the existing heritage structures to breathe. Proposed projects include a new learning center, a high-performance sports and aquatic complex, revamped staff facilities, and flexible learning spaces that support agile and contemporary education.

The Prototype Classrooms project is a crucial component of the initial implementation of the Master Plan Campus Vision. Moving forward, insights and data gathered from these spaces will inform the brief for future construction and refurbishments in the years to come.

Hayball has contributed to Brisbane Boys College’s publication ‘Collegian: Master Plan Campus Vision Special Edition, 2024,’ with an interview with Graham Legerton, Hayball’s project principal.
