Ngarrga Terragulk Nightingale Brunswick, VIC

Located at 17-19 Hope Street, Brunswick, Ngarrga Terragulk is a collection of five buildings, each designed by a different architect. The medium-density precinct has contributions from Neeson Murcutt Neille, Kennedy Nolan, WOWOWA, Hayball and Lian, with Hayball as the Executive Architect through all phases.

Each building follows the principles of the Nightingale Model, is carbon-neutral, exemplifies social value principles, and meets a minimum NatHERS rating of 7.8.

The precinct engages local community through a generous public interface and open green space. A bicycle pathway leads visitors and residents into the park, where deep soil planting and landscaped ecology serve to unite the buildings.

Environmental, financial and social sustainability objectives are at the forefront of all design decisions. Sustainability initiatives include electric-powered services, high thermal performance, solar power, seven managed waste streams to minimise landfill, efficient water fixtures and catchments for reuse, secure end-of-trip cycling facilities, and rooftop communal spaces with gardens.
