The scheme for this purpose-built multi-storey building is a bespoke response to a prominent gateway site at the edge of Melbourne’s CBD. Signalling a new generation of student accommodation design and innovation, the project is one of a suite Hayball is delivering for Atira.

A diverse selection of room types, meaningful common spaces and verdant outdoor terraces all contribute to the overarching brief of inclusive, connected and highly serviced on-site community. As well as delivering program and cost efficiency, the undulating form of the modulated prefabricated façade reflects back the immediate locality, and is animated by the seasonal weather patterns and changing light conditions. With consideration of the heritage context, the design emphasises positive connections to the public realm.
