Tempo Apartments Box Hill

Hayball partnered with MAB corporation and housing association, Housing First, to facilitate the rehousing of existing elderly residents living in outdated council facilities and to rejuvenate a former carpark in central Box Hill.

The development consists of ground floor retail and commercial tenancies along the Bruce street frontage with one level of offices above. A 10-storey residential part of the building which addresses Elland Ave provides 50 managed affordable elderly persons apartments including 10 number NDIS apartments, while the 18-storey component of the tower provides market apartments.

The affordable housing includes a mix of 1 and 2 bedroom apartment types including flexible dual key units which offer self-contained studios to accommodate carers where required.

A north facing terrace at level one is provided for all occupants to use. Indoor communal amenities for each residential component open onto this terrace including
a large north facing multi-functional living room and communal kitchen for the affordable component.

The affordable housing roof top also includes a working garden community garden and associated shed and workspaces. The facility is complemented by a strong place-based management approach with integrated services and social networks that foster a sustainable community.
